Meet the Team!
Fr. Elias Villis, Director
Fr. Elias was born and raised in the great city of Chicago. There he attended Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church in Justice, Illinois where he made his decision to enter the seminary and seek the priesthood. Entering the seminary in January, 1990, he graduated Hellenic College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religious Studies in May, 1994. Fr. Elias married Melanie Triantafilou on July 2, 1995 and graduated from Holy Cross Greek Orthodox School of Theology with a Master's of Divinity Degree in May, 1997. On February 24, 1996, he was ordained to the Holy Diaconate at Holy Cross Church, Justice, Illinois by His Eminence Metropolitan Iakovos. Upon completing his studies in December 1996, Fr. Elias and his wife lived in Greece for 4 months studying the Greek Language. After returning to America, he was assigned to serve Archbishop Spyridon as Archdeacon. He was ordained to the Holy Priesthood on the Great Feast of Pentecost on May 31, 1999 and was assigned as Proistamenos to the Greek Orthodox Church of Our Saviour on July 1, 1999. In January 2005, His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios appointed Fr. Elias Director for Camp Saint Paul. He and Presvytera Melanie currently live in Armonk, New York and have 4 children - Anastacia, Nicholas, George and Artemios.
Konstantine Gergoudis, Program Director
(also known as String Bean Dean) is ecstatic to return this summer for his third year as your Program Director! Dean graduated from Fordham University at Rosehill in 2010 with a Bachelors in Science, majoring in Psychology. Dean then completed a Masters in TESOL (teaching English as a second language) from Saint John’s University in Queens. While earning his master's, he worked full time as a Teacher’s Assistant at a school for children with disabilities for three years. He is currently a teacher working in the DOE at a public school in Queens. Coming to Camp Saint Paul for the first time in 2008 was one of the best things he has ever done. Having served on staff every summer since 2009, Dean is looking forward to spending his TENTH summer at Camp Saint Paul serving all of the staff and campers in Litchfield, Connecticut. He can't wait to see you all at camp! P.S. WHAT IS PAIN?!?!?!?!
Michael Sellas, Boys' Director
Born in the vast city of New York, Michael has had the blessing of being nourished by several welcoming parishes of the New York area including Zoodohos Peghe of the Bronx, Annunciation of New York City, and Church of Our Saviour of Rye. Having graduated from CUNY Hunter College with a degree in Music Theory and Composition, Michael went on to undertake a Masters of the Theological Studies in Holy Cross Seminary of Boston. His God-given talents have allowed him to serve the Church in various capacities, offering time and talent wherever possible. This his fifth year attending the beautiful ministry of Camp Saint Paul, and if the Lord allows, many more. Needless to say, the thrill of the natural environment, the love emanating from staff and campers, and the depth of Orthodox spirituality offered, fosters the his perpetual zeal for the ministry! On his spare time Michael enjoys competitive table tennis, reading various literature, and sharing his time with dear friends and family while exploring the beautiful faith we have the blessing of being a part of!
Thea Gergoudis, Girls' Director
Thea was born and raised in Richmond, VA where she attends Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church. She graduated from the University of Richmond in 2016, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in biology and elementary education. She further pursued her passion for education and is currently working as a 3rd grade teacher at a public elementary school in Richmond. When she’s not making lesson plans or having fun with her students, Thea loves to run, play ultimate frisbee, and spend time with family and friends. She is blessed to be spending her third summer at the best place in the world: CSP! And God-willing for many more summers! Thea loves the Orthodox faith with all her heart, and is eager to guide campers in learning more about our incredible faith. She is looking forward to another unforgettable summer at CSP with you!
Anastacia Villis, Activities Director
Anastacia Villis is so excited to be serving as activities director this summer! Born and raised in Westchester, NY, she is also blessed to call CSP her summer home for the past 14 years. Anastacia just finished her second year at Northeastern University, studying political science and international affairs. She keeps busy being a project manager at the Social Enterprise Institute and the Vice President of recruitment for her sorority, Delta Phi Epsilon. A SoulCycle enthusiast, travel bug and beach lover, Anastacia also has a passion for her faith and sharing it with her campers. She can't wait to bring new flextivities, and her little bit of crazy to our nighttime activities. Pray with us she doesn't get too excited and lose her voice after 2 days!
Gregory Gatanas, Activities Director
Gregory was born and raised in Flushing, Queens. St. Nicholas Flushing is his home parish and responsible for shaping him into the man he is today. He loves to be involved in his community through GOYA and serving in the altar. He is a seminarian looking to continue his education at Holy Cross, Brookline this upcoming Fall. When he has free time, Greg enjoys reading, playing basketball, and watching classic movies. This will be his third summer serving camp and first as the activities director. He is extremely excited for camp! He hopes to share the beauty of the Orthodox faith with the youth and to help strengthen their faith and relationship with Christ, as well as his own.
Antonia Brogna, Diakonia Director & Camp Store
Antonia, more commonly known as Toni, proudly hails from Long Island, NY. She participated in Greek school, Greek dance, junior choir and Sunday school at Holy Trinity Church in Hicksville, where she was also GOYA President. Now, she is a rising senior studying journalism at Stony Brook University. Next year, she will be Vice President of the Greek and Cypriot Student Association. She is so excited to be returning to camp for her sixth summer!!
Mark Nitis, GCA Director
Mark is very excited to be leading GCA this summer for the fourth year at Camp Saint Paul! Mark grew up attending The Greek Orthodox Church of Our Savior in Rye, New York. There, with his family, he learned about our Faith and Greek Culture. Mark was one of the first children to attend camp saint paul and fell in love the second he step foot on the grounds. This will be Mark's 12th year at camp saint paul. He currently has his associates degree in criminal justice, and is two classes away from his bachelors degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Law. But before doing that he plans on leading the best possible GCA session he can. He looks forward to seeing you all and can't wait to have another amazing summer at Camp Saint Paul!!
